bsnl evdo wireless broadbandBharat Sanchar Nigam Ltd (BSNL) today announced the launch of EVDO a high speed wireless broadband service with India Wide Internet access facility while on move .The Company claims BSNL EVDO Data Card can offer speed up to 2.4 mbps, faster than existing mobile wireless service and now BSNL providing the India Wide Roaming on its EVDO service. BSNL EVDO broadband service allows customers to be connected not only for mails, but also for downloads, large files uploads, photo sharing, etc.
BSNL EVDO Data Card comes with a price tag of Rs.2,100 and can be used in laptop or in desktop PC.BSNL also introduces the Unlimited Internet Usage plan at Rs.650 per month. BSNL customer can use EVDO card to access the High speed wireless broadband service across India.
The above tariff will be effective from 1 st July, 2009 for all new customers. For existing customers who have already taken the cards and are presently getting unlimited service @ Rs.550 for EVDO card, they have to migrate to higher plan after completion of 6 months period and due intimation has to be given to them as per TRAI directions on the subject.
The awareness and demand for wireless Internet connectivity is increasing rapidly and with laptop and PC sales showing exponential growth, there is a huge demand for wireless high-speed Internet access, BSNL EVDO broadband service allows customers to be connected not only for mails, but also for downloads, large files uploads, photo sharing, etc. It also allows users to send and receive SMS and is compatible with both laptops and desktop PCs.
BSNL is the first to roll out EVDO Internet in India. The EVDO was launched unofficially back in September 2007 by BSNL and now, after the establishing better EVDO network, BSNL has started to launch officially in most parts of the country and now its the EVDO users can acess the high speed wireless broadband with India wide roaming facility.

Railway Police is just an SMS away in INDIA

Need police help during a train journey? Shoot off an sms to 9962500500 and a government railway police constable will be at your side.

The facility introduced on Tuesday will allow passengers inside trains and at railway stations across the state to post complaints and request police assistance.

"The messages will be forwarded to the beat constables based on the train number or station name given by the passengers. In case of the crime reported is grievous like doping, dacoity, robbery or derailment, the message will be forwarded to higher level officials," said inspector general of police G U G Sastry.

Windows 7: Device Stage and Nokia

Microsoft has published a list. But when I tried by connecting my N95 8GB to Windows 7 it asked for drivers, Then I installed the PC suite and I was wondering why the Device Stage support had gone, the other day when I connected my N95 GB and accidentally selected Media Player and found the Windows 7 Device Stage Supports My Nokia phone

Copying text from s60 web browser

I think it is one of the most important feature that a s60 mobile must have. I was waiting for Nokia to add this feature to the browser. But thanks to the Nokia Multiscanner and Screenshot applications which solved my requirement of copying text from browser. Just take the screenshot of the page from which u want to copy text and open that Image from Nokia Multiscanner and it gives you the text from that image.
